Review: Taint by S.L Jennings

Amazon  *  Goodreads  *  B&N

Synopsis:
Right now, you’re probably asking yourself two things:
Who am I?
And, what the hell are you doing here?
Let’s start with the most obvious question, shall we?

You’re here, ladies, because you can’t f*ck.

Oh, stop it. Don’t cringe. No one under the age of 80 clutches their pearls.
You might as well get used to it, because for the next six weeks, you’re going to hear that word a lot. And you’re going to say it a lot.
Go ahead, try it out on your tongue. F*ck. F***ck.

Ok, good. Now where were we?

If you enrolled yourself in this program then you are wholly aware that you’re a lousy lay. Good for you. Admitting it is half the battle.

For those of you that have been sent here by your husband or significant other, dry your tears and get over it. You’ve been given a gift, ladies. The gift of mind-blowing, wall-climbing, multiple-orgasm-inducing sex. You have the opportunity to f*ck like a porn star. And I guarantee, you will when I’m done with you.

And who am I?
Well, for the next six weeks, I will be your lover, your teacher, your best friend, and your worst enemy. Your every-f*cking-thing. I’m the one who is going to save your relationship and your sex life.

I am Justice Drake.
And I turn housewives into whores.
Now…who’s first?

Review:
When I first read the blurb for this book I was intrigued.  It didn't sound like the books I have been reading, and frankly I am getting tired of the same cookie-cutter plot line.  Also, I am I big S.L. Jennings fan, so I figured I had nothing to lose.  I danced my happy little fingers over to Amazon and 1-clicked before I had time to second guess my decision.

When I began reading I wasn't sure if I had made the right choice.  I mean the blurb does say he is going to teach this rich woman how to keep their men happy by teaching them how to please them in the bedroom.  Now, in this line of work I have read many things, so at this point, I don't think would really shock me.  Seriously, if the sexy Justice Drake laid each one down and screwed their brains out, I wouldn't have been surprised.  Thankfully, that is not what happened.

Justice Drake is offering a service to these snobby, cold woman in an effort to help them save their marriages and keep their men from straying.  Well, offering a service is a stretch.  The circumstances that has brought these woman to his oasis is questionable, but his program is meant to help.

Now, I have read that others felt that this plot was degrading to woman.  I could see how the premise of this book could be seen that way.  I mean why would it be something these woman did wrong that caused their husbands penises to wander all over town.  I agree that perhaps they should have womaned up and kick their philandering asses to the curb.  But I don't think there is anything wrong with giving a woman the tools and confidence to feel sexy again and bring the spice back into their marriage.  I truly believe that was the message behind this book.

The heroine, Ally, could have been a little stronger.  I would have liked to see her be a little fiercer.  I felt like she was a little too wishy-washy.  I also felt the ending was rushed.  I kept tapping my iPad trying to get the page to turn when I finally realized it ended.

Overall, I thought this was a nice little book and a quick read.

Happy Reading!!
