Review: Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol

Synopsis:  All she wants is a home, but can she find one…UNDER DIFFERENT STARS

Kricket Hollowell is normally not one to wish upon stars; she believes they’re rarely in her favor. Well versed at dodging caseworkers from Chicago’s foster care system, the past few years on her own have made Kricket an expert at the art of survival and blending in. With her 18th birthday fast approaching, she dreams of the day when she can stop running and find what her heart needs most: a home.

Trey Allairis hates Earth and doubts that anyone from his world can thrive here. What he’s learning of Kricket and her existence away from her true home only confirms his theory. But, when he and Kricket lie together under the stars of Ethar, counting them all may be easier than letting her go.

Kyon Ensin’s secrets number the stars; he knows more about Kricket’s gifts than anyone and plans to possess her because of them. He also knows she’s more valuable than any fire in the night sky. He’ll move the heavens and align them all in order to make her his own.

When everything in their world can be broken, will Kricket rely upon love to save her under different stars?

Review: I was a huge Amy A. Bartol fan prior to reading Under Different Stars.  I fell in love with her writing a few months ago when I read her Premonition series, so I was very excited when I heard she has a new series starting.  Damn she didn't disappoint.  I think I fell even further in love with her style.  Under Different Stars was absolutely amazing.  Amy truly has a gift.  She can create a world just outside the realm of reality, but make it so believable that the reader forgets it is not real.  Also, the characters she creates are mesmerizing.  There are moments when you don't want to like them, but they are so astounding and lovable that you find yourself softening to them.

Under Different Stars is the story of Kricket Hollowell.  For years she has been trying ti live under the radar.  Just trying to make it to her eighteenth birthday,  Then she will be free to live her life.  However, the one thing she wants more than anything is a place to call home.  Someplace to always feel safe and loved.  Little did she know home would find her.

When Trey accepted the mission to bring Kricket back to Ether to pay for her crimes he thought is would be simple.  Prepared for every possibility, except for the one that created a connection between him and Kricket.  Escorting her home, Kricket begins to get under Trey's skin.

When push comes to shove can Kricket follow her heart?  Can she find a home and love under different stars?

Bravo Amy.  Bravo.

Happy reading!!
