Review: Wrecked by: Priscilla West

“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

WRECKED
RESCUED (WRECKED BOOK TWO: Coming Early 2014)

(I received this novel from the author for an honest review.)

Can two people who have been broke by their pasts help glue each other back together?  Can friendship and love mend wounded hearts?  I am not sure, but for Lorrie and Hunter's sake I sure as hell hope so!

After the murder of her mother ans the unexpected death of her father Lorrie tries to move forward with her life.  Back at college Lorrie tries to be normal, thought deep down she feels anything but.  Determined to focus on putting one foot in front of the other the last thing she has time for is drama.

Life has other plans and like a practical joke on behalf of fate Hunter comes splashing into her life.  The connection is instant and unwelcome, but also undeniable.  Vowing to be friends Hunter ans Lorrie begin treacherous journey of healing together.

When life gets tough ans the house of cards appears to be tumbling down Lorrie and Hunter need each other more then ever, but are they strong enough to help each other or are their spirits too fragile?

I really loved this book.  I enjoyed the plot from start to finish. I liked the angst between Lorrie and Hunter.  The fight and struggle their relationship goes through.  I liked Lorrie's strength, even though she doesn't think she is strong.  I enjoyed Hunter's vulnerability even though he appears so strong.  But seriously... what a cliffhanger!  I need the sequel right away!  It is going to be an agonizing wait.

Happy Reading!!
